【English Report】Zweigen Kanazawa vs FC Gifu by Stuart Smith.
FC Gifu traveled north to face Zweigen Kanazawa in the Hakusan derby on September 30. Before the game, our mascot Giffy took part in some events with Zweigen’s mascots Nancy and Genzoyer, and despite the inclement weather (there was a typhoon passing over Japan that weekend) all the mascots did their best to ensure the supporters were entertained. Unfortunately for Gifu, Giffy lost his penalty shoot out with Genzoyer, but he redeemed himself in the pre-game dance contest. And It wasn’t just Giffy that made the trip to Kanazawa, our stadium announcer Ryosuke Kuze also went there to help with the starting XI announcement and to take part in the pre-match activities.

The result didn’t go the way we wanted as, despite a promising first half, Kanazawa scored two second half goals to claim a 2-0 win. After the game, coach Takeshi Oki said: “We appreciate the supporters who came to Kanazawa despite the bad weather, and I’m sorry that we couldn’t give them something to smile about. But the season is far from over, so from now we must lift our heads up and look ahead to the next game.”
